Secondary Education (MED) - Borderland Consortium

Program Description

This program is no longer accepting students. 

The Alternative Path to Secondary Certification (Borderland Consortium) provides individuals interested in becoming teachers the opportunity to teach full-time while pursuing their certification and masters degree. In this two-year professional program, students will meet certification requirements and earn a Master’s in Secondary Education while they teach in middle schools and high schools that are part of the UA South Borderlands Consortium.

  • Methods and Models of Instruction for Practicing Teachers
  • Computer Applications in the Classroom
  • Teaching the Exceptional Child
  • Adolescent Development
  • Participant Research Methodologies for the Practicing Teacher
  • Research in Teaching and Schooling
